Workshops

Rachel provides workshops on LGBQ/T inclusion in the perinatal period. These workshops can be anywhere from 1.5-4 hours and include topics such as: LGBQ/T 101, Discrimination and Oppression, Inclusive Language, and understanding our own biases and backgrounds. We will spend time brainstorming concrete solutions to make your business or office more culturally competent.

“Rachel’s training on working with LGBQ/T families was useful, enlightening, and fun. She helped me understand the real implications of whether programming and communications with diverse families is culturally appropriate and sensitive — or not. She worked with us on how we can improve our services so all families and parents are embraced as WHO THEY ARE, and provided tools and resources for me to continue to educate myself and other people at my organization. What a great service!”

Jessie Colbert, Executive Director, Mass. PPD Fund (she, her, hers)

Consultations

In a consultation, Rachel will provide both a basic understanding of LGBQ/T identities and language as well as the importance of inclusive language and how to implement it. Consultations can be provided on a one-time basis or over a longer period of time, depending on your needs. Rachel will spend time examining your materials and provide feedback on how to make them more culturally competent.
